New Delhi: Priyanka Chopra is currently in India after three years. The actress, who is also a UNICEF Ambassador, visited Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, and shared snippets from her trip where she can be seen advocating women's rights and monitoring the education system in government schools. She can also be seen visiting anganwadi centres.

On her way to Lucknow, Priyanka shared a video of herself shot in her car, where she can be seen talking about women's rights and how she has reiterated the fact time and again that "women and girls are the key in building better futures, not just for themselves but for their communities."

Priyanka can be seen wearing a white t-shirt with the UNICEF logo on it. The video begins with her saying, "Right now, I am in Lucknow, India with UNICEF. I am really looking forward to this field visit. I have spent a few of my childhood years at school in Lucknow, I have family and friends here. And I am keen to understand how the needle has shifted for women and children in the state of Uttar Pradesh. I want to see first-hand how technology and innovation is making that shift at a (larger) scale. Across India gender inequality results in unequal opportunities, and it is the girls that are most disadvantaged."

She continues by shedding light on the importance of women education and says, "We are visiting various UNICEF partners to see that work is being done with the aim to end violence and discrimination against girls. I will hear about the challenges they face in everyday life, and see the solutions on hand, because what is needed is solutions at scale. As I have said often enough, women and girls are the key in building better futures not just for themselves but for their communities.”

Earlier, Priyanka gave a glimpse of the UNICEF office in Lucknow. She also shared videos where she can be seen interacting with children at school, making them do different activities and visiting an Anganwadi centre to see that proper diet and nutrition is imparted to children according to their age, height and weight.

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra will soon be seen in the Bollywood movie 'Jee Le Zara' that also stars Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in the lead. The actress will also be seen in Russo brothers' 'Citadel' along with featuring in a Hollywood movie.
