New Delhi: 'The Archies' on Netflix by Zoya Akhtar created quite a storm post its release. The mega musical drama launching star kids like Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda has been receiving mixed reviews ever since the film's announcement and post release. As many continue to share what they think of Zoya Akhtar's film, Manoj Bajpayee recently revealed in an interview that he watched 'The Archies' because of his daughter Ava, and did not like it.
In a recent interview with Zoom, Manoj Bajpayee shared that after watching the first 50 minutes of the film, he shared his view about the film to his daughter, and was surprised to know that she did not like the film. "My daughter was watching The Archies and I told her, ‘I am not liking it’. She was like, ‘Okay’ and by then I had watched it for 50 minutes. Archies is not a part of my growing up years. My growing-up years included Motu Patlu and Ram Balram. I might have read maybe just one book of Archies and I remember Veronica and Betty. But, she was also not liking it.”
The 'Gangs of Wasseypur' star added that he told his daughter about speaking in Hindi like the characters shown in the film. And, that did not go down well with his daughter Ava, who scolded Ava for disturbing her while watching the film.
She also told Bajpayee that he was not spending enough time with the family. "She said, ‘You are not giving family time, papa.’ Every time I start scolding her, she scolds me in return.” The actor added in the same interaction.
Meanwhile, 'The Archies' is a coming-of-age musical that follows the story of seven friends who live in a fictional town of Riverdale.
On the other hand, Manoj Bajpayee was seen in 'Joram', which was directed by Devashish Makhija. Earlier, Bajpayee was seen in 'Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai' and 'Gulmohar'.
