Barun Sobti reprises his role as Garundi, the dedicated young police officer, while Mona Singh is the latest addition to the cast. The new season, co-directed by Sharma and Faisal Rahman, promises another gripping investigation intertwined with complex human emotions.

The storyline revolves around a woman who, after separating from her husband, is found brutally murdered at her brother’s residence. The case brings Garundi together with his newly assigned superior, the tough and no-nonsense Dhanwant Kaur (played by Singh). However, as they dive deeper into the mystery, they find their personal lives to be just as tangled as the case they are trying to solve.

Sudip Sharma on Kohrra's success

Reflecting on the success of the debut season, Sharma humorously remarked, "The first season was surprisingly well-liked." He went on to describe how the new installment builds upon the original’s strengths.

"It is all of what was already there in season one. Plus, it is a more mature kind of love story along with the whole investigation drama that we had last time. So I would say it is even more of a relationship drama this time. And then we have Mona, who is the new entrant. It is great to have that feminine energy this time," he said.

For Mona Singh, stepping into the role of a police officer was both exciting and challenging. "It's been a very beautiful, satisfying, challenging journey for me. There are many, many firsts for me. I enjoyed playing a cop for the first time. I did action and had a lot of fun... As an actor and human being, I feel very happy and satisfied," she shared.

The second season of 'Kohrra' is penned by Gunjit Chopra, Diggi Sisodia, and Sudip Sharma. Produced by Film Squad Productions in collaboration with Act Three Productions, the series aims to deliver yet another powerful and immersive narrative.
