Panchayat season 3: Jitendra Kumar has reprised his role as Abhishek Tripathi, aka ‘Sachiv Ji', in season 3 of the Prime Video India original series 'Panchayat'. After the release of the latest season, in an interview with India Today, the actor talked about the past rumours of his fallout with the makers of the series, The Viral Fever (TVF). There were speculations that Jitendra might not return to the show.
Jitendra Kumar rumours of fallout with TVF
Jitendra said, “There was a lot of panic and I could see that all over social media. The last season ended on Abhishek's transfer and that also spurred the buzz further. There was a misunderstanding, and honestly, main bhi pareshan ho jata tha (I would get troubled) answering the same questions. At one point, I was like aur mat poochon, bandh karo yeh (don't ask about it, end it now).”
“Given I have had a long association with TVF, people were worried about what went wrong. I understood it's their love and we just waited for the first trailer to end all speculations,” he added.
At the end of season 2, his character Abhishek is transferred from Phulera, which fueled the rumour that he won't be back for season 3. The actor was also missing in TVF Pitchers season 2, which was released on ZEE5 last year.
Panchayat season 3 review
The ABP Live review of 'Panchayat' season 3 reads: The way the second season had ended, it was expected that the third season would be different. Panchayat's new season takes a noticeable turn towards a more serious tone. This shift might leave some fans missing the show's signature comedic style like the groom episode of season one or the fight scene from season two. There are scenes like the fight between Pradhan and his wife, Binod’s deadpan dialogue delivery, and a few more moments that will make you chuckle but overall, the season lacked the sustained comedic bursts of the past. The emotional weight of the second season's ending may have resulted in the change but we surely missed laugh-out-loud moments this time.
