Bengali OTT series titled 'Paashbalish' is set to premier soon on streaming platform Zee 5. Directed by Korak Murmu, the show stars Ishaa Saha, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Sourav Das and Rishi Kaushik in key roles. A heartwarming tale of love, passion, and revenge, the series promises an enthralling journey where intertwined destinies collide in unexpected and dramatic ways involving 'Babla' and 'Mampi', two childhood friends who were separated in Bangladesh. Fastforward 15 years, the two meet in the small village of Pathorkuchi when the storyline raises questions about their reunion.

To know more about the show, ABP Live had a conversation with Ishaa Saha where she shared tidbits about her character, and also revealed what the audience can expect from the show.

Ishaa Saha On Her Role As A Crime Journalist:

"I play the role of Aanchal, a crime journalist, who does not opt for a job despite getting selected in Kolkata's top media houses. Instead, she chooses to venture into YouTube while staying at her locality- with her people and her family. As a YouTuber, her aim is to talk about issues happening in her area and tell their stories to the larger audience. Having to visit the police station a number of times due to work, she meets Chandu, which is played by Suhotra Mukhopadhyay," said Ishaa.

What Audience Can Expect From This Series:

Ishaa seems to have thoroughly enjoyed working in this series, sharing that it was mainly because of the stellar cast and director Korak Murmu.

"This project with Zee 5 came to me after a long time, with the last one being 'Mafia'- a totally different kind of show and I feel that the audience has missed it. Also, I did not have much experience at that time. If 'Mafia' would have come to me today, I think I could have performed better. Another reason to love 'Paashbalish' is the fact that it has been directed by Korak Murmu, and with this, I got a chance to create my space in mainstream commercial content," she said.

Talking about how the audience will perceive it, Ishaa said, "The key points in this web series are the set of actors because of whom the quality of this project has increased. It was great to work with them and the audience will love the performances. Its a family content- a commercial masaaledar content that has romance, drama, thrill, friendship and a whole lot of emotions."

About Ishaa Saha:

Ishaa Saha was a law student and after completing her studies she became a registered lawyer. Her entry into films was totally by chance after she was approached by the executive producer of a popular Bengali soap asking her to audition. Although oblivious to the norms of the industry, Ishaa decided to take the chance- a leap of faith- and entered into the world of cinema.

Following her stint in a television soap, Ishaa made her debut in films with 'Projapoti Biskut' after which there was no looking back.

With films like 'Guptodhoner Sondhane', 'Sweater' and series like 'Indu', 'Mafia', 'Gora', Ishaa turned into one of the promising actors of the Bengali Film Industry.

Despite working in so many films, where she portrayed a variety of characters, Ishaa said, "There are still many roles which I wish I could get to play. I personally admire Alia Bhatt and her work a lot. So, when I watched 'Raazi' or 'Dear Zindagi', I wished if I could ever get a chance to play those roles."

Meanwhile, 'Paashbalish' is set to stream on Zee 5 from May 10, 2024.
