Stepping into the unfamiliar world of reality television, Anshula Kapoor—content creator, entrepreneur, and sister of Bollywood star Arjun Kapoor—is carving a space of her own. Currently seen in 'The Traitors', the Indian adaptation of the hit global reality format, Anshula has become one of the more talked-about contestants. Anshula has now decided to set the record straight on whether the show is scripted or not.

Anshula Kapoor on whether The Traitors is scripted or not

In a video shared on her Instagram, Anshula addressed the burning curiosity around The Traitors. “Is The Traitors scripted? How can this be the number one DM in my DMs right now?” she laughed, before declaring, “Traitors is not scripted. There was not 1% of a script given to any of the 20 participants of this show.”

She didn’t stop there. Anshula detailed the intense confidentiality that surrounded the show, right from day one. “First, let’s start with everything that went down to get us to start filming that first episode. There was so much secrecy,” she recalled.

Anshula explained that even while flying from Mumbai to the shoot location, the production team ensured that contestants wouldn’t cross paths unless absolutely necessary. “I think Elnaaz, Ashish ji, Sufi, and Jannat were on my flight. To keep it as secret as possible, even during the check-in process at the airport, we were given different slots. We were given a shadow—our own personal valet.”

That was only the beginning. Before filming began in Jaisalmer, the cast had been divided into two groups and housed in separate hotels. The layers of precaution extended into their daily routines. “At this hotel, while we were getting checked in, they literally were like, ‘You will have your phone for like three hours, and then tonight somebody’s going to come.’ Not just phones, but they took all the electronic equipment. It was all about isolation, because they didn’t want us to form alliances outside the show,” Anshula shared.

While audiences see only a sliver of the chaos and drama in each one-hour episode, Anshula revealed that the shoot schedule was nothing short of grueling. “We were actually shooting for 16 to 18 hours a day,” she noted.
