New Delhi: The latest single from Zoya Akhtar's next film, 'The Archies', 'Va va voom', promises to revive the magic of the rock and roll era. The new song, a joyful dance number, has lead actors Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Dot., Mihir Ahuja, and Suhana Khan, Yuvraj Menda, Vedang Raina, dancing cheerfully during a fair. The hit tune 'Va va voom' is a groovy time travel to the 1960s.

Interestingly, in the song video, Agastya Nanda also performs a Main Hoon Na-style floor slide and flips Suhana 360 degrees. At a party, Agastya can be seen holding the microphone stand while performing a few quirky dance moves while strumming a guitar. Agastya performs a floor slide to land in front of the two girls, channeling his inner Shah Rukh Khan, as seen in the Main Hoon Na song Gori Gori.
Soon after, Khushi and Suhana, both join him to shake a leg with the troupe.

Shankar Ehsaan Loy composed the song, which was written by Zoya's father, lyricist Javed Akhtar.

“Va Va Voom is a classic Archie comic term. It’s a compliment to describe a girl he likes. A way of saying she is cool. This song encapsulates the energy of the 60s rock ‘n’ roll era and romanticises teenage love,” Zoya said about the song.

“Archie wears his heart on his sleeve as they dance to a super fun Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed tune. My dad Va va voomed it and Ganesh has nailed the choreography. The actors just followed his lead and as gruelling as it was we had a blast shooting it,” she said.

Archie Comics, Tiger Baby, Netflix India, and Graphic India teamed together to create the movie. The much-awaited movie, which is helmed by Zoya, will be released exclusively on Netflix worldwide on December 7.
