Chennai: Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan, the actor-director couple of Kollywood, are finally married after sharing an elaborate seven years of relationship. The couple got married in an intimate ceremony in ‘brahma muhurtam’ before the sunrise as it's considered auspicious by the people. The wedding was followed by star-studded reception with celebrities including producer Boney Kapoor, actors Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, Suriya, Jyothika, Karthi, Sarath Kumar, Radhika, Dhivyadharshini among others.


Hours after the wedding, the couple released a picture of the marriage ceremony in which the couple was seen in red, green and gold combinations for their big day. Nayanthara looked drop-dead gorgeous donning her red lehenga with an emerald neckpiece and a layered haram. Director Vignesh Shivan was also dressed up in a golden suit for the wedding.

Taking to Twitter, Vignesh Shivan said, "On a scale of 10…She’s Nayan & am the One ☝️☺️😍🥰 With God’s grace, the universe, all the blessings of our parents & best of friends. Jus married #Nayanthara ☺️😍🥰"



The ‘Thangamey’ couple first collaborated for the project "Naanum Rowdy Dhaan" in 2015. The couple soon fell in love on the sets of their first project seven years ago. 


They first hinted about their relationship during an award ceremony in Singapore. Later, Vignesh Shivan also started to share images from their holidays. 


However, the couple once again made news after Lady Superstar of Kollywood mentioned about their engagement ring during the promotions of her movie ‘Netrikann’.

Meanwhile, there are also speculations that the wedding will be made into a documentary and will be broadcast on an OTT platform.


However, starting from the wedding invite of the couple to the return gifts they gave their guests all started to trend on social media. The video wedding invite had caricatures of the couple donned in traditional attires. The couple also provided the guests with water bottle which had their caricatures and the title ‘Love Story’ under the banned Rowdy Pictures, the production company jointly owned by the couple.
