New Delhi: After Alia Bhatt tagged Mumbai Police in a social media post which reported an untoward prying episode, the latter has asked her to file a complaint. On Tuesday, Alia had updated her fans and netizens on Instagram that she caught two men on the neighbouring building prying on her with a camera when she was sitting in the living room of her house in the afternoon. Alia also shared a long note on privacy and how she was utterly disappointed with this.


Taking to her official Instagram handle, Alia shared a picture of herself from her Bandra home where she is on her phone standing in the balcony. Alia mentioned in her post that she caught two men spying on her with their camera from a neighbouring building as she was sitting in her living room in the afternoon.


She wrote, " Are you kidding me? I was at my house having a  perfectly normal afternoon sitting in my LIVING ROOM when I felt someone watching me... I looked up and saw two men on the terrace of my neighbouring building with a camera right at me! In what world is this okay and allowed? this is a gross invasion of someone's privacy. There's a line you just cannot cross and it's safe to say all lines were crossed today!@mumbaipolice."


This prying episode has left many shocked on social media soon after Alia shared the picture on her Instagram story. This isn't the first time Alia has spoken about privacy and being papped in an inappropriate manner.


As per reports, Alia's team is now looking into the matter and is in touch with the concerned people. 


Following Alia's post, many celebrities stood by her resharing her story and calling out similar experiences. Alia's mother Soni Razdan added, "Shocked and dismayed at this blatant disregard for a person's privacy. Are we really turning into 'that country' now? Where all our cultural norms simply cease to exist when it comes to 'getting the picture'? Hope someone can address this and fast!"


Besides Alia's sister Shaheen, celebs like Swara Bhasker, Sushmita Sen, Anushka Sharma and Janhvi Kapoor also shared their personal experiences and called this episode 'disgusting', 'shocking' among other things.


On Wednesday, news agency ANI tweeted, “Mumbai Police has contacted actor Alia Bhatt & asked her to file a complaint in the matter where a photographer clicked her private pictures & these pictures were published on an online portal. The actor has told police that her PR team is in touch with the concerned portal: Police.”
