Sajid Nadiadwala’s Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss and starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, is one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year. With its high-octane teaser and electrifying songs, the film has already captured the audience's attention. Now, all eyes are set on the much-anticipated trailer.
Adding to the excitement, director A.R. Murugadoss recently shared some intriguing insights about the film.
Will Sikandar have an unexpected climax?
When asked if Sikandar would have the same emotional depth as Ghajini, known for its strong emotional core alongside intense action, Murugadoss replied, “Absolutely. This is not just a mass entertainer—it’s a film with deep family emotions. While Ghajini explored a boyfriend-girlfriend love story, Sikandar delves into a husband-wife relationship. It reflects how modern families function, how couples treat each other, and highlights what we often miss in our relationships."
He continued, "This emotional depth will be a standout aspect of the film. Just like Ghajini, which surprised audiences with its touching love story between Aamir and Asin, Sikandar carries a similarly moving element of love that will resonate with viewers.”
Why is Sikandar special?
Highlighting what makes Sikandar special, he added, “This film will be a landmark in Salman sir’s career. It’s more than just an Eid entertainer—it blends action, emotion, and mass appeal in a way that will connect with audiences across all demographics. We’ve crafted a story that will be enjoyed by hardcore Salman fans and family audiences alike.”
Murugadoss also drew a comparison to Salman’s earlier films, stating, “Yes, exactly! It’s a mass film with a powerful emotional core, much like Ghajini. Many believed Ghajini was purely an action thriller, but the love story turned out to be its emotional backbone. Similarly, Sikandar surprises with an intense and relatable husband-wife story at its heart. Audiences who loved Salman in classics like Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun will definitely appreciate Sikandar.”
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by the master storyteller A.R. Murugadoss, Sikandar releases in theatres on the occasion of Eid 2025.
