Mumbai: Former Bollywood actor Uday Chopra, fondly known for his roles in ‘Dhoom’ franchise, shared a post to inform his fans that he is taking a break from Twitter. Uday, who is the son of late veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra, asked his followers to be compassionate.

“I don’t know when I’ll return to Twitter but be compassionate above all else. There is a terrible future for us all, but there is also an amazing one. It’s all in our hands. Don’t give in it to the hatred. Compassion and inclusion will win in the end. Keep fighting,” Uday wrote on the micro-blogging site. Here's what he posted!

The ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’ actor didn’t post anything on Twitter since a long time. He had last shared a throwback snap to celebrate 25 years of ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ in October 2020.

“A picture of me from the sets of DDLJ. It’s been 25 years!!! Was a truly special and fun experience. The memories will last for ever,” he tweeted while posting the photo.

Uday had left his fans worried after he posted a tweet on ‘suicide’ in 2019. "For a few hours I deactivated my Twitter account. It felt as close to death as I could get. Was phenomenal! I think this is a good option to suicide. I might be doing it permanently soon," his tweet read.

"Confession: I'm not okay. I am trying but so far I'm failing," Chopra wrote in another tweet. His well-wishers had flooded his DMs with their messages, asking him to ‘Stay strong’.

The “Mohabbatein’ actor later informed the fans that his tweets were a result of his ‘dark humour’. He thanked the fans for expressing their concern.

"Seems like I tweeted something recently that got a few of you worried. I'm totally fine, it’s just my dark humour that sometimes gets misunderstood. Thanks for all your concern though," he wrote.

On the professional front, Uday Chopra was last seen in Aamir Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer 'Dhoom 3'. He is currently leading the international arm of Yash Raj Films.

On a related note, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has also quit social media. In his 'last' Instagram post, he wrote, "Hey guys, thank you so much for all the love and warmth on my birthday. My heart is full. In other news, this is going to be my last post on social media."
