New Delhi: The trailer of Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ has managed to create anticipation among the movie buffs for the film. The trailer, which was unveiled on Tuesday (November 19), has received an amazing response on social media. The period drama co-starring Kajol and Saif Ali Khan is based on the life of Maratha warrior Tanhaji Malusare. The yet-to-be released film has already landed in trouble as NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad has threatened the makers to make changes, accusing them of showing inaccurate things in the name of cinematic liberty.

Awhad said that he has watched the trailer of ‘Tanhaji’ and would take action against the movie in his own way if the changes are not made accordingly. He further added that if the director Om Raut considered his demand as a threat, he is free to feel so.

Ajay Devgn, Om Raut and the producers are yet to react to the allegations.

The film also faced objections from Sambhaji Brigade, who picked up three points from the trailer and asked makers to clarify on the said scenes. The right-wing organization questioned certain dialogues said by Kajol in the film and pinpointed that a man threw a wooden stick on Shivaji Maharaj.

The brigade also alleged that the makers made an attempt to erase Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's secular and all-inclusive image by showing the symbol of OM on the saffron flag.

“Movies should be made on historical topics, but we will not tolerate the distortion of historical incidents/facts,” the organisation told Mumbai Mirror.

‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ is slated to hit the silver screens on January 10, 2020. The film will clash with Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Chhapaak’ at the box office.
