New Delhi: Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise has left the industry and fans in a state of shock. It’s hard to believe that the ‘Shudh Desi Romance’ actor is no more. Sushant’s suicide has created uproar on social media as debates on nepotism and inside vs outside have flared up. Fans have even started unfollowing some of the star kids including Alia Bhatt and Ananya Panday on Twitter and Instagram.

Amid the hullabaloo, director Vivek Agnihotri revealed that he had signed Sushant Singh Rajput for ‘Hate Story’ but he couldn’t take up the film as ‘Balaji didn’t release him’. The ‘Chocolate’ director paid tribute to the talented actor with a doodle on Twitter. One fan asked him why he didn’t offer Sushant a film when he was alive.


Responding to the user, Vivek wrote, “I had signed him for ‘Hate Story’ - his first movie contract. But Balaji didn’t release him.”




Sushant became a household name after playing the role of Manav opposite Ankita Lokhande in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Pavitra Rishta’. He later made his Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Kai Po Che’ in 2013.


Sushant Singh Rajput, last seen in ‘Drive’, committed suicide by hanging himself at his apartment on June 14. His last rites were conducted at Pawan Hans crematorium, Vile Parle on Monday (June 15). Tinsel town celebs like Rajkummar Rao, Kriti Sanon, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Ekta Kapoor attend the ‘Raabta’ actor’s funeral.


Sushant’s father and sisters immersed his ashes in river Ganga in Patna’s NIT ghat on Thursday (June 18). Meanwhile, Mumbai Police is investigating the death of the ‘Chhichhore’ actor. The police officers have recorded the statement of his rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, ‘Dil Bechara’ director Mukesh Chhabra, family members, caretaker and managers.

Sushant's last film 'Dil Bechara' couldn't hit the silver screens in May 2020 due to the COVID-19 crisis. Fans have requested the makers to release the film on the silver screen and they trended the hashtag #DilBecharaOnBigScreen on Twitter.
