The film has received a U/A rating and has a runtime of 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Stree 2 box office clash

Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao is leading the advance box-office collections among all Independence Day releases. The horror-comedy sequel 'Stree 2', also starring Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurrana, is expected to perform exceptionally well and has taken a significant lead in advance sales over the other two films, 'Khel Khel Mein' and 'Vedaa'.

'Stree 2' is dominating the competition, having sold over 2.2 lakh tickets worth more than Rs 7 crore for its opening day. The majority of the interest for 'Stree 2' is also coming from Delhi and Maharashtra. Directed by Amar Kaushik, who also directed the blockbuster first film, 'Stree 2' is eyeing a Rs 40 crore opening day, according to Bollywood Hungama, which would make it the biggest opening for a Hindi film this year, surpassing 'Kalki 2898 AD'’s Rs 28 crore in north India on its first day.

Interestingly, the average ticket price for 'Khel Khel Mein' is slightly higher than that of 'Stree 2' and 'Vedaa', although the difference is minimal. This suggests that the film is primarily being shown in urban centers.

Stree Recap

In the small town of Chanderi, the legend of an enraged female spirit named Stree is deeply rooted. According to local belief, during a four-day religious festival, Stree gropes the town’s men, whispers their names, and vanishes if they look back. To protect themselves, the townspeople write "O Stree kal aana" in blood on their doorways and avoid going out alone after 10 p.m.

Vicky (Rajkummar Rao), a local tailor, meets a mysterious girl known only as the girl with no name (Shraddha Kapoor) during the festival and quickly falls for her. She asks him to make a lehenga and gives him an odd shopping list, raising suspicions in his friend Bittu that she might be Stree. Vicky dismisses the concerns until another friend, Janna, is abducted by Stree, prompting him to suspect the girl's true identity.'

Vicky, Bittu, and Rudra Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), the town’s librarian and phrenologist, set out to rescue Janna. They discover Stree’s story in a torn book called the Chanderi Puran, leading them to an old fort where they believe she resides. During their search, Stree attacks but hesitates upon seeing the affection in Vicky’s eyes, eventually retreating.

The mysterious girl later reveals she has been trying to defeat Stree for three years after losing someone dear to her, convincing Vicky and his friends that she is not Stree. They learn that Stree is the vengeful spirit of a courtesan wronged by the townspeople on her wedding night. With the girl's help, they devise a plan to vanquish Stree by cutting off her long braid, the source of her power. The plan succeeds, causing Stree to disappear, but the story ends with a haunting twist.
