New Delhi: Veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam tested positive for COVID-19 last month and was put on life support after his condition deteriorated. He was moved to the ICU after that under doctor’s observation. Well, there comes some good news as the veteran singer tested negative for the novel coronavirus. His son SPB Charan took to his social media and informed everyone that his father has also celebrated his wedding anniversary.

SPB Charan has been updating about his father’s health since the singer tested positive for COVID-19. In his video, he apologised for not keeping his fans updated about SP Balsubrahmanyam’s health over the weekend as he was hoping for a piece of very good news. He said that they were expecting the veteran singer’s lungs to improve as to an extent so that the ventilator can be removed. But unfortunately, it could not happen. SPB Charan also shared the good news of his dad being COVID-19 negative but it does not matter if his dad is positive or negative, all they want is his lungs to heal quickly.

Charan also added that his father is very excited for the upcoming IPL and keeps on watching lots of cricket and tennis on his iPad. SP Basubrahmanyam also celebrated his wedding anniversary and thanked everyone for their love, care and prayers.



Balsubrahmaniam, who has crooned over 40,000 songs in 16 languages, is the recipient of civilian awards like Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The singer shot to fame in the Hindi film industry with his songs in 'Ek Duuje Ke Liye'.

The National Film Awards winner has sung several songs for Salman Khan in his films like 'Maine Pyar Kiya', ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun', 'Hum Saath-Saath Hain', to name a few.
