New Delhi: Bollywood stars Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter are currently going through a tough time. Shahid-Ishaan & their whole family is grief-striken as their maternal grandmother & Neelima Azim's mother Khadija Azeem is no more. Ishaan Khatter, who was last seen opposite Janhvi Kapoor in 'Dhadak', took to his social media account yesterday (January 18) and penned an emotional note remembering her. Ishaan took to Instagram to share few throwback pictures of his grandmother Khadija, who was a freedom fighter, writer and editor.


Ishaan wrote: "Ammi.. you instilled wit, fire, knowledge, perseverance, purpose and meaning in all of us. Freedom fighter, writer, translator, editor.. sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, friend, confidant - you were so many things and more. They don't make them like you anymore. Blessed to have had you in my life."

"I'll carry a small piece of your vast presence with me always. You'll never be forgotten by anybody whose life you deeply impacted."

He added: "In the first picture on the left, my Nani - Khadija Azeem - with her sister and my grand aunt, Shahida ammi. Here she is beaming proudly at her elder grandson's wedding reception. The second picture is her with her two children, my Mamoo and my mother. And the third is her with her favourite aunt and mom."

This is indeed a tough time for Shahid, Ishaan & their family. Here's hoping that they gathers the strength to cope up with the loss.

On the career front, Ishaan Khatter has projects like Mira Naira's 'A Suitable Boy' and Ali Abbas Zafar's 'Khaali Peeli' co-starring Ananya Panday. Whereas, Shahid will next be seen in the Hindi remake of 'Jersey' which is scheduled to release on August 28 this year.
