New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Tuesday (May 12) over the Coronavirus lockdown situation in India. PM Modi talked about how the COVID-19 pandemic has severely affected the functioning of many countries. He laid emphasis on the fact that it’s important to keep fighting against the deadly virus.


PM Narendra Modi announced a special economic package worth Rs 20 lakh crore under 'Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan'. He said that it is the time to make India self-reliant in every way. He also talked about new infrastructure and systems for a quantum leap of growth while addressing the people.

Putting an end to the speculations, Modi said that lockdown 4.0 will commence from May 18. He added that  fourth edition of lockdown will have new rules and people will be informed about it before May 18. He also made a fervent appeal and requested the people to endorse local products.



Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor took to Twitter to praise Narendra Modi for his speech. He tweeted, “Very powerful and inspiring speech by Shri Narendra Modi ji @PMOIndia #golocal.”


Arjun Rampal wrote, “Wow 20 lakh Crore!!!!! Now that’s what is the need of the hour and that’s why he’s our leader @PMOIndia @narendramodi great news in these uncertain times. #IndiaFightsCOVID19 #jaihind.”


"An unprecedented move for the world’s largest democracy! Self reliance, 20 lac crore package and yes India shines through these difficult times! Kudos to our PM and government for the move today, one which makes our nation stronger in the global economy!," 'Chehre' producer Anand Pandit wrote on the micro-blogging site.


Veteran actor Anupam Kher said that when PM Modi speaks, the entire world listens and takes inspiration from him.


'Bigg Boss 10' contestant Lopa Mudra Raut tweeted, "Lockdown 4.0 !! It is what it is now !! Toast to the ones here today.. Toast to the ones that we lost on the way.."
