New Delhi: The mega-hit 'Pathaan', starring Shah Rukh Khan, will have its Amazon Video premiere on March 22, 56 days after the movie was released. A few deleted sequences may possibly be included in the Siddharth Anand movie in the OTT version.

A scene outlining Pathaan's background was among the scenes that the director admitted were cut from the theatrical version. On January 25, the action movie with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham was released.

Fans might be treated to some additional content with Amazon Video's OTT release of 'Pathaan'. In a recent interview, the director made some references to the religion and history of the main character. In one scene, Pathaan (Shah Rukh Khan) is questioned about his religion by Rubai (Deepika). After helping in the rescue of children in an Afghan village, he tells that he was given the name 'Pathaan'.

“It's the synergy that Abbas [Tyrewala], Sridhar [Ragahavan], Adi [Chopra] and me, it's the four of us, not the three of us. The four of us have the same belief system, and the same films we’ve grown up on, and believed in. We share that. So, the fact that he doesn’t have a name, and he’s found in a theatre that was actually called Navrang… This got edited out, but you might see this in the OTT version… None of us looks down upon it, none of us says this is cheesy,” Siddharth told Galatta Plus.

The filmmaker further revealed that for Salman Khan and Shah Rukh's special cameo moment on the train, he had asked them to make a reference to their 1995 film 'Karan Arjun'.

'Pathaan', which was made by Yash Raj Productions, has grown to be the greatest Hindi movie ever. At the domestic box office, the Hindi movie has so far made around Rs 540 crore. The film also stars Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana along side the main cast. The music of the spy thriller was composed by Vishal–Shekhar.
