Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan downplayed the controversy surrounding the public apology rendered to him by singer Arijit Singh over a song from his upcoming film "Sultan".

When asked about Arijit's apology, the star quickly asked, "Who is that?"

Arijit had claimed in his apology that the actor was angry with him hence he did select the singer's version of a track in the wrestling drama.

"In every film, there are lot of singers who sing. It's the director and producer who make the choice of who is going to be the best voice for the film. One voice was mine but that was also rejected, so why get so upset and hurt? This is life," Salman said.

"Then smart comments ... post... you come to know the intentions."

Arijit had recently taken to Facebook to plead with the "Dabangg" star to retain a version of a song crooned by him in "Sultan" while also apologising to Salman for offending him during an award function. He later deleted the post.

The song "Jag Ghoomeya" was initially recorded by Arijit. It was later re-recorded in Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's voice, while Salman has also crooned another version of it.
