New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ is unstoppable and is ruling the ticket window, breaking records every passing day. Trade analyst on Wednesday tweeted that the film is expected to beat the box office collection of KGF 2 and Baahubali 2. Film producer Ronnie Screwvala reacted to the tweet and mentioned that ‘Pathaan’s has not surpassed Aamir Khan’s Dangal’s record.

In response to Taran Adarsh’s tweet about Pathaan’s box office figures, the tweet read, “Just to be very factual and clear. Dangal is and will remain the highest-grossing Hindi movie globally — just in China it did Rs 1200 crore plus. Just so we keep the record straight.”

The tweet has now been deleted.

Taran's tweet read, ”#Pathaan will cross lifetime biz of #KGF2 #Hindi [2nd highest] today [Wed]… Big question: Will #Pathaan surpass #Baahubali2 #Hindi in the coming days?… [Week 2] Fri 13.50 cr, Sat 22.50 cr, Sun 27.50 cr, Mon 8.25 cr, Tue 7.50 cr. Total: ₹ 430.25 cr."

While Shah Rukh Khan starrer has surpassed Dangal’s domestic box office collection, it is yet to cross worldwide collection of Aamir Khan starrer. Dangal’s domestic box office earning was Rs 387 crore and was the highest grossing Bollywood film in domestic market till ‘Pathaan’ beat its record. It has earned Rs 452.9 crore domestically till now. Dangal’s worldwide box office collection is over 303 million dollars (Rs 2200 crore approx) while Pathaan has surpassed the Rs 875 crore mark globally till now.

Shah Rukh Khan was seen on the silver screen in a full-fledged role after four years. Barring cameos in R Madhavan’s “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” (Hindi version) and Ayan Mukerji-directed blockbuster “Brahmastra Part One: Shiva”, the actor’s last full-fledged role before “Pathaan” was “Zero” in 2018.

During a media interaction, King Khan said that the overwhelming love coming his way for the film has made him forget the last four years when he was away from the big screen.

“I thank Aditya (Chopra, producer) and Siddharth… they gave me this opportunity. This is an expensive and time-consuming film and to give me a film at a time when I was not working and allow me to be a part of the film, I’m very grateful to them. I have forgotten the last four years in these last four days,” Shah Rukh said in a chat organised by Yash Raj Films.

'Pathaan' was released on January 25. It also stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana.
