Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer ‘Josh’ remains one of the most loved films of all times. It was a treat for the fans to see SRK and Aish as a brother-sister duo Max and Shirley in the action packed film by Mansoor Khan. Aishwarya, while promoting her film ‘Fanney Khan’, revealed that Salman Khan was originally supposed to play the main lead in the film. But did you know the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ actress was not the first choice for Josh?

A report in an entertainment portal suggested that the makers had Kajol in mind to play the role of Shah Rukh’s sister in Josh.  Interestingly, director Mansoor Khan had revealed during the Jio MAMI film festival in 2016 that Aamir Khan and Kajol were in contention for a role in his film.

The 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' director had approached his cousin Aamir Khan to play Aishwarya’s love interest in ‘Josh’, but he was against the idea.

“He (Aamir) refused to play the role. I saw that as perfect casting. Aamir wanted to change the image and he no longer wanted to play the lover boy or romantic hero. The character of Max was charismatic so, everyone wanted to play Max. So Aamir would have never let Shah Rukh play it,” Mansoor Khan was quoted as saying by PTI.

The character of Max (played by King Khan) was so popular and desirable that no actor wanted to play anything but Max.

Kajol, who will be soon seen in ‘Helicopter Eela’, also had her eyes on Max’s role. “When I met Kajol to play Shah Rukhs sister she walked away. I asked her if she is doing the film she said I want to play Max. So it was such an enigmatic character,” Mansoor told the news agency.

After seeing Shah Rukh Khan as the charismatic Max, we wonder how Aamir Khan and Kajol would have essayed the role.
