'You Are Responsible For A Billion Tears Of Joy': B-Town Celebs Shower Neeraj Chopra With Praises As He Creates History At Tokyo Olympics

Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor and other Bollywood celebs lauded Neeraj Chopra for clinching the gold medal in Javelin Throw at Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Mumbai: Neeraj Chopra created history by clinching the gold medal in Javelin Throw at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. It was a proud moment from the entire country as Neeraj secured India's first medal in Track and Field event. Social media is flooded with congratulatory messages from the commoners and celebrities. Several Bollywood stars including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Raveena Tandon took to Twitter to shower Neeraj with praises. 

Akshay, who is gearing up for the release of ‘BellBottom’, congratulated Chopra for adding another feather in his cap. The ‘Sooryavanshi’ star tweeted, “It’s a GOLD. Heartiest Congratulations. @Neeraj_chopra1 on creating history. You’re responsible for a billion tears of joy! Well done #NeerajChopra! #Tokyo2020.” 

“Gold Gold Gold. @Neeraj_chopra1 Congratulations Champion !!#Olympics #gold What a proud moment for every Indian across the world. Jai Hind,” Riteish Deshmukh wrote while sharing a photo of the Olympic gold medalist. 

Ajay Devgn, who will be next seen in 'Bhuj: The Pride Of India', lauded Chopra for his spectacular win at the Olympics. He wrote, "Congratulations Neeraj Chopra on your win at the Tokyo Olympics.  More power to you! You’ve made your parents & India proud. Can’t tell you how happy I am. This is awesome."

Veteran actress Hema Malini tweeted, "Wonderful news for India as young Neeraj Chopra wins the javelin gold! So proud of you Neeraj! The country salutes you."

"It’s a gold!!!!!!! I am jumping with Joy!!!! This young man Neeraj Chopra has created history," Taapsee Pannu wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Sophie Chaudry tweeted, "Omggggggg this is EPIC!!! First ever Gold in Athletics!! You were incredible #NeerajChopra .. Feeling so so so proud!!!!!! May this be the first of many in the years to come!!!"

Anil Kapoor also praised Neeraj Chopra for becoming Indian to secure a gold medal in athletics at the Olympics. He wrote, "Gold Gold Gold Gold, congratulations. Our very first gold in Athletics...an incredibly proud moment for the whole nation!! History has been made!"

Neeraj Chopra is the second Indian after Abhinav Bindra to secure a gold medal in a singles event in Olympics. The Haryana boy, who is trending on social media since claiming gold, dedicated his victory to late sprinter Milkha Singh.
