New Delhi: Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's upcoming film tentatively titled 'SSMB28' with director Trivikram Srinivas has begun shooting in Hyderabad. The film marks the third collaboration of superstar Mahesh Babu with the filmmaker. 'SSMB28' has allegedly sold its digital rights to streaming giant Netflix for a whopping amount of Rs. 81 crores.
Sources told Indian Express, this is the highest a Telugu film has earned from such a deal. As per the same report, the film will release on Netflix only 50 days after the theatrical release.
'SSMB28' has Pooja Hegde as the female lead. The film is already in production in Hyderabad. After delivering two hit films like 'Athadu' and 'Khaleja', fans are expecting the actor-director collaboration to give another hit. Mahesh Babu has also started shooting for his part in Hyderabad and his rugged beard look has created quite some anticipation among fans.
The Mahesh Babu, Pooja Hegde starrer is expected to release this year. The film will be edited by National Award-winning technician Navin Nooli, music to be composed by National Award-winning music director S Thaman with cinematography by PS Vinod, and art direction by AS Prakash.
The film is being bankrolled by S Radhakrishna (China Babu) for Haarika & Hassine Creations.
Mahesh Babu's last release 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' disappointed fans. Its grand release in 2022 in theatres did not perform as expected. However, Mahesh Babu's fans are hopeful that with this hit-collaboration with Trivikram Srinivas, he will deliver a blockbuster.
After this film, Mahesh Babu will also begin working on SS Rajamouli's next film which was announced earlier in 2022. Fans are super-geared to see what Mahesh Babu brings to the 'RRR' fame director's film.
On the personal front, Mahesh Babu had a rough last year where he lost his brother, mother and father within a gap of a few months. The actor had also issued an official statement thanking his fans for their support in such times.
