New Delhi: ‘Leo’ has been released across the world. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial starring Thalapathy Vijay has been receiving a mixed response from fans across the country. In the Southern states especially, while fans are loving Vijay’s performance, many are not quite happy with the film, per se.

Movie has cute & enjoyable nuances including the ending. #Anirudh surprises yet again. Just that movie could've had a better motive for conflict & the villains could've been stronger than expected. Meanwhile, South film critic and trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan also shared his review of the film and wrote, "Tried to be a lion🦁 but ended up as a cat🐈.  Despite a promising premise and some commendable efforts from Joseph Vijay and cast, the end result is a disappointment. Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo fails to live up to the expectations or unnecessary hype. Also, the film does not maintain a consistent level of engagement, leading to moments of boredom that detract from the overall viewing experience. The film is no where near Vikram or Kaithi, it is the weakest in Lokesh career. A Mediocre Effort."
