Akshay Kumar is set to play an all different avatar in the upcoming film titled 'Laxmmi Bomb' which is a Hindi remake of hit Tamil horror comedy 'Muni 2 -Kanchana'. Akshay plays the lead role of 'Raghava'(portrayed by Raghava Lawrence in original) in the film who gets possessed by the spirit of dead transgender woman 'Kanchana'(played by R. Sarathkumar in Tamil film) who wants to avenge her murder . Kiara Advani plays his love interest in the movie, directed also by Raghava Lawrence. Akshay and Kiara began shooting for the film in April and they are now set for second schedule by the end of July. There were rumours then that Amitabh Bachchan would play the role of transgender character 'Kanchana' in the film and while it is yet to be confirmed, another actor joins the cast who will play the role of the villain MLA Shankar(originally played by actor Devan). It is Tarun Arora, the boyfriend of Kareena Kapoor Khan from 'Jab We Met'. Remember Anshuman who Geet initially left the house for but who then dumps her and she chooses Shahid Kapoor aka Aditya over her boyfriend in Imtiaz Ali's 'JWM'.

Tarun has been roped in by director Raghava to play the main antagonist in the Hindi remake of his hit film and the two have already worked together in 'Kanchana 3' which is the fourth installment in Muni series and third installment in Kanchana series, reports Mumbai Mirror. A source informs the Mumbai daily - "Like in the original, the Hindi villain is also a corrupt MLA, and Raghava, who has worked with Tarun in Kanchana 3, which released in April this year, believes that he is apt for the part. His new avatar is very different from his Jab We Met character. The formalities are currently underway".

Raghava back on board as director of the film after after he had opted out feeling disrespected

Tarun is popular in Bollywood for his role of 'Anshuman' but the actor has done multiple Tamil and Telugu films post his 2007 'Jab We Met' stint. Down South, Tarun has worked with Chiranjeevi in Khaidi No. 150, with Pawan Kalyan in Katamarayudu and with Ravi Teja in Amar Akbar Anthony. He was also seen in Tamil blockbuster 'Kanithan', in which he played the villain.

Model-turned-actor Tarun looks nothing like what he did in JWM.

He largely sports salt & pepper hair and beard now and boasts of a chiseled body.

Tarun had told Deccan Chronicle in 2016, "Now, I have found my strength. I do not mind being typecast and I am ready to experiment. I want to become the next ‘big’ villain in Tamil cinema!"
