Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are all set to star in 'Ramayana' together. The film has been gathering headlines ever since it was announced. The film will be directed by Nitesh Tiwari and will be released in two parts. The film will also have several popular stars in it. As per reports, Kannada superstar Yash will begin shooting for the film in March. Yash will be essaying the role of Ravana. 


Yash begins shooting of Ramayana


A Filmfare report quoted a source close to the development stating that Yash will join the shoot of the film in March. The 'KGF' star discussed his upcoming film and the future of the KGF franchise with The Hollywood Reporter India and said, "If the character is treated like a character… if this doesn’t happen today, then the film won’t happen. To make a film with that kind of budget, you need those kinds of actors to come together." 


Speaking about why  he was drawn to the role of Ravana due to the character's complexity and called it 'the most exciting character'. Yash admitted that 'Ramayana' came to him after discussions with Namit Malhotra of DNEG and Prime Focus. Their vision helped him to sign the role, and he even decided to co-produce the project. 


It’s a very fascinating character… there’s vast scope to present it in a very different way," Yash tolf Hollywood Reporter India.

'Ramayana' stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Earlier, some pictures of Ranbir and Sai in their costumes went viral, raising anticipation among fans about their film.  


Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027 have been locked for the release of 'Ramayana Part 1', and 'Ramayana Part 2'. The film's poster was released mentioning the release date. 


Besides Ranbir and Sai Pallavi, Lara Dutta will play the role of Kaikeyi, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara.
