Director Leena Yadav, while speaking to ANI here, shared how Kajol reacted after watching the movie.
"When Kajol saw the film, she said, 'the first thing I wanted to do after watching the movie was calling my friends to come over for a chat.' It just that whatever I wanted to do over years, I have put them all into Parched," she said.

On a related note, 'Parched,' which was premiered at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) last year, will release in India tomorrow under Ajay Devgn's production company 'Ajay Devgn FFilms.'
Further speaking about the inception of 'Parched,' Leena said that it came from the thought of how vocal rural women are about their sexual life.
"The inception of the film was a conversation with Tannishtha Chatterjee for doing a film with her. Then we went on speaking about various things. We first wanted to make 'Sex in the village.' Then we travelled a lot and discovered many more stories," she said.

She even added her thought became even more firm after she started relating to the stories she discovered.
"For me, the real point of knowing that I have to do this film was when I came back to Mumbai and felt that I will not make a movie about village as it has happened to be too," she said, adding, I wanted to see people like me on screen. I don't see women like me on screen. I don't see the conversation I have to be screened. We get to in movies what men do, but we rarely get to see women on screen portraying what they do when they sit together."

'Parched' revolves around four women living unwanted lives in a village, which still suffers from forced child marriages and other social issues like financial difficulties, spousal and familial rape, and physically and emotionally abusive and alcoholic husbands.
The movie, starring Radhika Apte, Tannishtha Chatterjee,Surveen Chawla, Lehar Khan and others, tells the story of their standing up for themselves.
