New Dekhi: Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Shairya Karwa and Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer 'Gehrayiaan' clocked a year on Saturday. The deeply controversial and much-talked about film was released on streaming platform Amazon Prime video last year. As the team of the film celebrated one year of its release, Red Chillies VFX shared a video that deconstructed the many visual effects of the film.

While it has been known to many that the Shakun Batra directorial has been shot in Goa, a major chunk of the film's sequences are filmed in a studio or are just VFX. For instance; as per the video shared by Red Chillies; a lot of outdoor shots on the yacht and conversations between Deepika and Sidhanth's characters on the beach were filmed in a studio against a green or blue screen backdrop.

This is not just to say that a lot of the films these days are relying on VFX but also that during the shoot of the film, there were also restrictions on the shoot given the larger pandemic situation across India. Nevertheless, the video is an insight for audiences and many filmmaking students who also happen to be Shakun Batra fans.

The video was shared by the Red Chillies VFX team on YouTube and ever since the video was shared, fans cannot stop talking about the film. Some mentioned that it looks like the entire film in VFX. The comments thread was flooded with amazement and questions around the film's shooting.

A user wrote, "This is so amazing to see that how they added gehraiyaan to gehraiyaan," while another wrote, "Really ....batao actor only perks bhi khatam....no Switzerland ki trips..." Many praised the VFX by red chillies and also requested to shared VFX of films like PS1, Saaho, Baahubali etc.

Recently, as 'Gehrayiaan' completed 1 year, Ananya Panday shared a special post with a picture featuring the cast of the film with the director. She wrote in the caption, "special people, special movie  #1YearOfGehraiyaan missing everyone SO much forever grateful for this.” Karan Johar also gave a shout out to the Gehraiyaan team and said, “One year of a film that broke ground, switched genre halfway through, was discussed and debated…But most certainly not ignored.”

'Gehraaiyaan' also featured Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor in key roles.
