New Delhi: Yash Raj Films’ spy film Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi is doing well at the box office. Emraan, who has played an antagonist in the film, is happy that people are loving his showdown with Salman in the film.

Talking about the film’s response, Emraan said in a statement: “I’m thrilled with the response to Tiger 3 and how people have showered love on my performance. We have started on a very good note and I expect the film to entertain audiences globally.”

“I relished the opportunity to play an anti-hero and what could be better than going toe to toe with the biggest action superstar of our country, Salman Khan! I’m delighted that people have loved our showdown and that’s great validation for me.”

He added: “I have always wanted to entertain people with my choice of films and playing an anti-hero liberated me to explore shades that I have never ventured into before. I’m thankful to people for loving my villainous turn and for making Tiger 3 a successful film at the box office.”

In an interview with ANI, the actor said that he was initially a bit skeptical to play a villain. “I was honestly a little skeptical, because when you hear the word ‘antagonist’, certain preconceived notions emerge in your mind. I’ve generally played positive characters, some grey characters. I was impressed by the depth, nuance, and attention to detail of the character.”

Talking about working with Salman Khan, the actor told ANI, “I’ve known Salman for quite some time; he’s fond of me, and I’m fond of him. I wasn’t intimidated. You generally get intimidated when you don’t know your co-star; it happened to me when I worked with Amitabh Bachchan, but not here.”

Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Maneesh Sharma, 'Tiger 3' is running successfully in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
