Mumbai: The Special Investigation Team of the Narcotics Control Bureau on Sunday (November 7) summoned Aryan Khan in connection with the drugs on cruise ship case. However, the 23-year-old failed to appear before the officials. Aryan, who is the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, skipped the summon citing fever as a reason, according to a report in PTI.

The anti-drugs law enforcement agency had issued a summon to Aryan, asking him to appear before the officials on the same day. "But he did not appear before the SIT officials citing fever," an NCB official told PTI.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to investigate the six cases including the much-publicized drugs on cruise ship in which SRK’s son was arrested.

The SIT, which is led by senior officer Sanjay Kumar Singh, reached Mumbai on Saturday (November 6), a day after the NCB transferred the six cases to it. The federal agency had also summoned Arbaz Seth Merchant and Achit Kumar, who appeared before the officials on Sunday.

Why Was Aryan Khan Arrested?

The star kid was detained and later arrested following NCB’s raid on a Mumbai-Goa cruise in October 2021. He was arrested along with Arbaz Seth Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha and others in connection with the alleged rave party case. The accused were booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.

Aryan was released on bail on October 30. The Bombay High Court granted bail to him on personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. As per the bail order conditions, Aryan had to surrender his passport before the Sessions Court. He was also directed to not leave Mumbai without informing the investigating officer.

Aryan visited the NCB office in Mumbai to mark his weekly presence as his bail conditions require him to appear before the officials every Friday between 11am-2pm. It was his first appearance at the NCB office after getting released from Arthur Road Central Jail.
