New Delhi: Deepika Padukone dazed everyone with her stellar performance as a spy with some real badass attitude in Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Pathaan'. The high-octane action thriller, which is part of Yash Raj Films' spy universe, is making new records everyday at the box office. The film is inching towards grossing over Rs 350 crore at the domestic box office while it has already collected 500 crore nett within a week of its release on January 25.
The audience was thrilled with Salman Khan's cameo in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer as 'Tiger', the character from his 'Ek Tha Tiger' franchise. As per an India Today report, 'Pathaan' writer Sridhar Raghavan talked about the possibility of Deepika Padukone as Rubai having a crossover with Katrina Kaif as Zoya. He said, "There are so many films planned by Adi sir (Aditya Chopra). It is a bit early to talk about it because he already has a clear vision. For example- the film opened with the logo of the spy universe because he has a very clear idea and design about where he wanted to go with this. We intend to explore all the existing characters - male and female. We intend to have crossover between all these worlds because it is the same world."
He further added, "We intend to have new agents coming in and we also intend to have older agents that you thought you might never see again. They will be coming back in a manner that you might not have anticipated. There's a lot of this and that going on. Right now, I will keep it more tantalising rather than revealing too much. Because it is all the work in progress stage. You will see a couple more characters and the universe expanding. The possibilities are limitless.”
While Deepika Padukone has made her mark in the action genre with her power-packed performance in 'Pathaan', Katrina Kaif is all set to reprise her role as spy agent Zoya in 'Tiger 3'. Headlined by Salman Khan as Tiger, the film also stars Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist.
