New Delhi: The teaser of Alia Bhatt’s first production venture ‘Darlings’ is out. The film stars Alia, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew.
The 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' actor took to her Instagram and shared the teaser along with the caption, "It’s just a tease Darlings. Arriving 5th August #DarlingsOnNetflix."
Touted to be a dark comedy, the film’s 1-minute-40 second teaser leaves you intrigued and sets high expectations from the film.
The teaser opens with Alia reciting a story about a frog and a scorpion in the background. At the same time, the visuals show Alia and Vijay Varma romantically involved and Shefali plays Alia’s mother. Roshan Mathew is also a part of the Shefali-Alia household.
'Darlings' will release on Netflix on August 5. India Today had earlier reported that the film was sold to Netflix for Rs 75 crore.
The music for the film is composed by filmmaker-composer Vishal Bhardwaj, and the lyrics are by veteran lyricist Gulzar.
Alia is jointly producing the film under her home production company Eternal Sunshine Productions with Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment.

Alia is having an exceptional year both on the personal and professional front. The actress married Ranbir Kapoor in April this year and recently announced her pregnancy. She is currently shooting for her Hollywood debut ‘Heart of Stone’. It is a spy thriller, directed by British filmmaker Tom Harper. The Netflix original also stars Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.
