New Delhi: After playing basket ball in his upcoming movie 'Half Girlfriend,' looks like Arjun Kapoor is all set to take up bat and get down to the field.

According to DNA, sources said that the 31-year-old actor has been offered to play legendary cricketer Kapil Dev on screen.
"It's true that Arjun has been offered the role. He will sit for a narration and then decide whether he will take it up," it said.
However, it is reported that the film is not entirely on the cricketer's life. Rather it will focus on the 1983 World Cup, where Team India, under the captaincy of Kapil Dev, won the cup.
"It's not entirely a film on Kapil's life, so to say. It's more about the 1983 World Cup where India was victorious and how Kapil, the captain lead the team to triumph. But there will be flashes of his life too but that won't be the epicentre of the film," source added.

This shows, with Md. Azharuddin, M.S. Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev too will join the league of getting filmed.
For the unversed, 'Azhar,' starring Emraan Hashmi in the title role, is already out and the M.S. Dhoni biopic and Sachin Tendulkar documentary ready to hit the screens this year.

On work front, the 'Gundey' actor, who has been busy filming 'Half Girlfriend,' an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel of the same name, will start shooting for 'Mubarakan' soon.
