NEW DELHI: Rajkumar Rao is known for bringing life to the characters he plays onscreen. He did the same for portraying Shaurya in his upcoming film 'Trapped.' To make his character, who is trapped without food and water, look real, Rao lived on coffee and carrot for 15 days.
"The story is about a person, who is trapped, not getting food to eat and water to drink. So, as an actor, it is my responsibility to undergo the same experience. Or else, everything would have been very fake. I did not want that because I believe in reality. Not only coffee, I had some carrots too. This went on for 15-16 days. It was all for the film, that's it," he told.
Further sharing his experience of working in the film, the 'Aligarh' actor said that the journey was memorable which gave him a huge platform as an actor.

"My journey with this film was very memorable. I don't know when I will again get such a chance again to play such a character, where there's such a huge platform for me as an actor, to perform, where I can push myself beyond limits, where I have to starve, I have to eat meat and give blood. I love to challenge myself for my characters," he said.
The Vikramaditya Motwane directed film was screened at Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival this year and received raving reviews. Speaking about the appreciation, he further said, "Filmmaking is a very tiring work. So, we always want when we make a film, people like that. So we received such reaction at MAMI. People connected to my character Shaurya."
'Trapped,' which also stars Geetanjali Thapa, will hit the theatres on March 17.
