Following the massive success of Jawan, director Atlee is preparing for his next major project, tentatively titled A6. The filmmaker has teased a “bang-on” announcement soon and confirmed that Salman Khan will lead the film. Atlee is reportedly working on a casting coup, aiming to bring either Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan on board, creating what could be one of Indian cinema's biggest spectacles.
After SRK, Atlee confirms collaboration with Salman Khan
At present, Atlee is occupied with his debut production Baby John, set to release during Christmas 2024. In a conversation with Pinkvilla during a masterclass, Atlee was joined by his producer partner Murad Khetani and the film’s lead actor, Varun Dhawan.
When asked about updates on A6, Atlee shared, “A6 is something that consumes a lot of time and energy. We have almost finished the script, and we are in the prep stage. Soon, a bang-on announcement will happen with God’s blessing."
Regarding Salman Khan’s involvement, Atlee subtly confirmed the news, saying, “Definitely, I am going to surprise everyone with the casting. What you are thinking, yes (that’s true). But you are going to really get surprised. And I’m not being pompous, but it’s going to be the proudest film of our country. We want a lot of blessings, just pray for us. The casting is on the edge, and it’s going to happen in a few weeks. We will have the best, best, best announcement coming soon to you all."
Varun Dhawan on Baby John
Varun Dhawan, who stars in Baby John, couldn’t hide his excitement about A6. He said, “It’s going to be out of this world; people don’t know what’s going to hit them. I have heard and seen a little bit of visualisation. It’s unbelievable what he is putting together. He is working relentlessly, quietly and humbly."
The anticipation for A6 has only increased, as fans eagerly await Atlee’s vision for what he calls the “proudest film of our country." Meanwhile, Baby John is generating buzz ahead of its Christmas release, with audiences curious about its connection to Atlee’s cinematic universe.
