Kartik Aaryan’s ouster from Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana 2’ has set several tongues wagging. Movie buffs were quite excited to see Kartik romance Janhvi Kapoor in the second installment of ‘Dostana’. Earlier in the day, we informed you that KJo decided to drop the ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ star from the film due to his ‘unprofessional behaviour’. It is being said that the filmmaker is miffed with Aaryan and has decided to not work with him again. 


Dharma Productions has now issued a statement to confirm that the team would re-cast for ‘Dostana 2’. The makers requested the fans to wait for an official announcement regarding the film.

"Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence- we will be recasting Dostana 2 directed by Collin D'Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon," the statement read. 



Kartik and Karan had a fallout due to creative differences. His talented agency was reportedly not allocating dates for 'Dostana 2', a source told ABP News.


“Kartik has expressed creative differences over the script of ‘Dostana 2’. Moreover, his talent agency has not been giving dates for the film and hence the production house has decided to replace the actor," the source said.


‘Dostana 2’, which is being directed by Collin DCunha, will mark the Bollywood debut of popular TV star Lakshya Lalwani. It remains to be seen which actor will replace Kartik Aaryan in 'Dostana 2'.


Many fans expressed their displeasure over Kartik's exit on social media. The 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' star trended on Twitter after the reports surfaced on the internet.

On the professional front, Kartik will be next seen in 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2', which is slated to hit the silver screens on November 19, 2021. The horror comedy also stars Tabu and Kiara Advani.


The 'Love Aaj Kal' star also has 'Dhamaka' in his kitty. The film will premiere directly on Netflix.
