New Delhi: The Yash Raj Films' honcho Aditya Chopra, who is not known to bend contract to accommodate new releases in theatres, made an exception for 'Great Grand Masti.'
Recently, when Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor and some other producers met at Aamir Khan's residence on Friday to discuss the issue of online leaks of new releases, Adi was made the request over phone ad he agreed to it.
Basically, as DNA reports, the issue of 'Great Grand Masti,' being preponed from July 22 to July 15 due to online leaks, came up during discussion.
Giving screens to the Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani-starrer on such short notice was difficult, as 'Sultan' has a three-week contract with the theatre chains all over India.
So Aamir and other bigwigs called Aditya to talk about it.
According to a source, "Since Aditya Chopra was not present at the meeting, Aamir and the other bigwigs from film industry phoned Adi asking for theatres for Great Grand Masti. To his credit, Adi, who is known not to budge an inch to accommodate films of other producers, agreed to share theaters screening his Sultan with Great Grand Masti."
"This is a first for Adi. He realizes the critical situation regarding piracy and online leaks, since Sultan was also leaked," added the source.
