Recently, Sharman Joshi even confirmed that the team will soon start working on the movie.
"Yes, Rajkumar Hirani has told me that he has an idea that he is working on for the sequel of '3 Idiots.' I am just waiting for all the things to fall into place so we can start working on it soon," Sharman was quoted during a promotional event for his upcoming movie "1920 London."

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, R Madhavan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Boman Irani in prominent roles, '3 Idiots' is one of the biggest blockbusters of all time.
Earlier, Rajkumar had said he has plans to make a sequel to '3 Idiots'. "As far as a '3 Idiots' sequel is concerned, Abhijat (Joshi) and I have an idea, but we are yet o develop it. The film will take some time," the noted filmmaker was quoted.
