New Delhi: P. Rema, wife of noted actor P. V. Jagadish Kumar popularly known as Jagadish, passed away at their home near here on Friday, said the family. Rema died at the age of 61.


Former head of the department of Forensic Medicine of the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College, Rema, had taken voluntary retirement after being diagnosed with a rare neurological ailment.


She is survived by the actor and their two doctor daughters, Dr. Remya Jagadish, who works as an associate professor at Nagercoil Medical College in Tamil Nadu and Dr. Soumya Jagadish, who works as a psychiatrist.


Rema was said to have been sick for a long period of time. The actual cause of her death, on the other hand, has not yet been determined.


"Rema has been unwell for sometime now and passed away peacefully," said the actor.


The last rites would be held here later in the day at 4 PM in Thycaud Shanthi Kavadam..


Malayalam actor and comedian Jagadish is well-known for his roles as comic relief and sidekicks. Godfather, Hitler, Junior Mandrake and Welcome to Kodaikanal are just a few of his finest roles.


Recently, Jagadish made a triumphant return to television as the presenter of a popular game show quiz programme. He will be featured in the films Marathakam and Thattukada Muthal Semitheri Vare in the near future.
