New Delhi: After the Netflix anthology film 'Lust Stories' created an audience for itself, the streaming giant is renewing the series with a sequel. As per reports, the 'Lust Stories 2' will be directed by R Balki, Konkana Sen Sharma, Amit Ravindernath Sharma and Sujoy Ghosh. The sequel will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Ashi Dua. As per a Pinkvilla report, the makers of  'Lust Stories 2' will release the film around Valentine's Day 2023.


'Lust Stories' which released in 2018 was helmed by filmmakers like Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar. A source close to the publication said that 'Lust Stories' is likely to release on a Friday closer to Valentine's Day and an official announcement about the same will be followed soon. 


As per the same Pinkvilla report, Kajol, Angad Bedi, Mrunal Thakur and others will star in the series and have been requested to plan their schedules accordingly. 


It is being reported that Tamannaah Bhatia and Vijay Varma will star in Sujoy Ghosh's segment of 'Lust Stories 2' while Mrunal Thakur, Neena Gupta and Angad Bedi will star in R Balki's segment. Kajol will feature in Amit Ravindernath Sharma’s part of the series, while Konkona Sen Sharma had locked Tillotama Shome and Amruta Subhash for her section.


‘Lust Stories’ was the second in the anthology series that began with ‘Bombay Talkies’ in 2013, and then ‘Ghost Stories’ that was unveiled in 2020.


‘Lust Stories’ starred Radhika Apte, Bhumi Pednekar, Manisha Koirala and Kiara Advani with Akash Thosar, Vicky Kaushal, Neha Dhupia and others. The film was nominated for two Awards at the 47th International Emmy Awards; Best TV Movie or Miniseries and Best Actress for Apte.


No official confirmation from Netflix India has been announced regarding the same as yet. Nevertheless, the news will have many fans of the series waiting in anticipation.
