'Laal Singh Chaddha' is the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood classic 'Forrest Gump' which starred Tom Hanks in the lead. Despite repeated 'Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha' campaigns which were trending on social media over the last month, the film managed to release on August 11, 2022.

Both Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor asked audiences to first watch the film before passing judgments on it. However, the negative controversy surrounding the film since its promotions began seems to have taken the better of it.

'Laal Singh Chaddha' collected a mere Rs. 11.50 crore on its opening day, according to Box Office India. This is the lowest opening for Aamir Khan in the past 13 years. Despite the festival opening and featuring megastars, the film has done very poorly on its first day.

Directed by Advait Chandan, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is written by Atul Kulkarni and is an official adaptation of Robert Zemeckis’ six Academy Awards winner 'Forrest Gump' starring Tom Hanks. The film also marks the Bollywood debut of Naga Chaitanya.

Having been made over 3 years and mounted on a massive budget, 'Laal Singh Chaddha's failure at the box office will create more confusion in the entertainment industry, particularly in Bollywood which hasn't delivered many hits since the lockdown eased.
