New Delhi: Sonam Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor appeared on the latest episode of the celebrity chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’. While Sonam Kapoor Ahuja has been a fan-favourite guest on the show for stirring the pot with her candid statements, Arjun Kapoor has become the new ‘mascot’ of the season with several stars using his name in the rapid-fire round or calling him during the game round.

The brother-sister duo was at their candid best and Sonam was back with her sass that was missing in the last couple of seasons. The camaraderie between the two was the highlight of the episode. Apart from all the fun banter, there were some serious conversations as well. Sonam talked about her pregnancy, and Arjun’s relationship with Malaika while Arjun spoke about her work and his relationship.

Arjun on taking time before going public with his relationship with Malaika
When asked by Karan Johar why he took time to reveal his relationship with Malaika to the public, Arjun said, “I think somewhere, I have lived the life being on the other end of the spectrum. I grew up in a disjointed or dysfunctional situation where things were not the easiest being a son, having to see what was going on around and having an understanding of it, but still having to respect it and accept it. So somewhere there was an understanding in my head about how I should try and ease everybody into it, including the first people around us. I can't just jump on her. "It is my choice to be with her but I cannot expect everybody to understand it and accept it easily. It has to be allowed to grow. I have to give regard to the relationship and the people around and ease everybody into it. It's not that we didn't talk about it as a couple, but there are baby steps. There is a basic understanding you need to have, that she has had a life, she has a child, I am somebody who is coming from a past that is aware of that."

Marriage is not on the cards anytime soon for Arjun
Arjun also revealed that marriage is not on cards anytime soon. He said he wants to focus on his career. "No. And honestly, because it's been two years of this lockdown and Covid and whatever was transpiring. I wanted to focus on my career. I'm a very realistic person Karan, it's not like I need to hide anything. I'm not sitting here and being coy. I really would like to be professionally a little more stable. I'm not talking about financially, I'm talking about emotionally. I would like to do work that makes me happy. Because if I'm happy, I can make my partner happy, I can live a happy life. I feel a lot of my happiness comes from my work," he told Karan.

When Arjun ended up with a black eye, thanks to Sonam
Sonam Kapoor shared how she was once asked to leave the basketball court in school by a school bully and inadvertently turned to her elder brother for rescue. Arjun went up to the boy in full vigour but what happened next will make the audience burst out laughing.

“I went up to him, telling him how can you talk to my sister like that. I imagined it would be like Shah Rukh Khan in Josh where two gangs fight but I just got socked in the eye! I had a black eye and I got suspended because I abused him,” Arjun Kapoor shared.

Sonam Kapoor’s truth bombs and fun answers
Sonam Kapoor was back with her sass and amused the show’s host and Arjun Kapoor with a few of her answers. Right from calling Ranbir Kapoor’s film Brahmastra as ‘Shiva No. 1’, and calling Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon ‘underrated’ during her rapid-fire round. Sonam clearly needs a couple of Bollywood sessions to get updated about the tinsel town.

Sonam also revealed that when she arrived at Mumbai airport from London she was expecting the paparazzi to be at the airport but then realized she had to call them. "I was expecting the media to come when I arrived, but I realised you have to call the media for them to come there. I find it very funny. First of all, I didn't know people call the media and be like come to the airport because we are going," she said.

Sonam called ‘Ek Villain Returns’ a ‘thirst trap’ film
Sonam called 'Ek Villain Returns' a ‘thirst trap’ film. She said all the actors looked hot in the film. Arjun was quick to cut her and respond by saying, “You haven’t seen one shot of the film, and you’re just saying things now.”

Sonam again showed her negligent film knowledge and called ‘Ek Villain Returns’ a Vishesh film. An exasperated Arjun said, “It’s Ektaa Kapoor who produced it.” After further laughter and banter, Arjun answered, “You’re a pain, you’re a mess, Sonam.” He then told the audience, “Sonam is back ladies and gentlemen, at my cost.”

'Koffee with Karan' is streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar.
