New Delhi: 'KGF Chapter 2' is running in its fourth week at the box office. The Prashanth Neel directorial released on 14th April 2022.The Yash starrer refuses to slow down. According to latest figures by trade analysts, KGF Chapter 2's box office collection is still earning good numbers.

The film recently hit Rs 1100 crores benchmark and looks like will soon cross tee Rs 1200 crores benchmark as well. Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan took to his official Twitter handle to share the film's business and wrote, " "#KGFChapter2 WW Box Office REFUSES to give up to new releases. Week 1 - Rs 720.31 cr. Week 2 - Rs 223.51 cr. Week 3 - Rs 140.55 cr. Week 4 Day 1 - Rs 11.46 cr. Day 2 - Rs 8.90 cr. Day 3 - Rs 24.65 cr. Day 4 - Rs 25.42 cr. Day 5 - Rs 8.07 cr. Total - Rs 1162.87 cr (sic)."

In 26 days since release, the film has earned close to Rs 1162 crores at the box office, 'KGF Chapter 2' has created new benchmarks on the box office for all subsequent mega mass-entertainers and also created difficulties for small films to release in theatres. The pressure is going to be intense on film production houses to make and release films of a kind that do great business at the box office.

Interestingly, 'KGF 2' is a film from the Kannada film industry and the other two mega films( 'RRR' and 'Baahubali 2') that have done exceptionally well also belong to the Southern film fraternities like the Telugu film industries.

Off late, Hindi films haven't been performing well at the office. When the lockdown opened, Ranveer Singh's '83 had generated a lot of buzz but did not get a lot of business. Post '83, there was Shahid Kapoor's 'Jersey' which again after the actor's 'Kabir Singh' had a lot of hopes but failed to make a mark. Although, Alia Bhatt's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' did manage to generate good business at the box office.

Other subsequent released like Tiger Shroff's 'Heropanti 2' and Ajay Devgn's 'Runway 34', both have failed poorly at the box office despite fans wanting these films to give some competition to the likes of South films like 'Beast', 'KGF Chapter 2' and 'RRR' which were still running in theatres at the time of their release.

On the other hand, films like 'KGF Chapter 2' refuse to die down even a month after release. The sequel to the superhit 2018 film 'KGF: Chapter 1', the second installment was one of the most-awaited films of the year.
