New Delhi: Earlier today, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and popular singer Adnan Sami has been honoured with the fourth highest civilian award in the country. Both the personalities from the film industry were spotted at the Rashtrapati Bhavan for receiving this honour from the President of India – Ram Nath Kovind.
It is now filmmakers Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor, who can be witnessed receiving the Padma Shri Award for their excellence in the field of art. Both Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor can be seen receiving the award from President Ram Nath Kovind.
Expressing her emotions on this big achievement, Ekta Kapoor said, “It is an absolute honour to receive the Fourth Highest Civilian Award for my humble contribution in the field of performing arts. It is a surreal moment and a matter of great pride. I want to dedicate this badge of honour to my two pillars of strength - my mom and dad. They believed in me with their whole heart and it is because of them, I am who I am!”
She further added, “I am really overwhelmed with all the love and accolades that are coming my way. I want to thank my family, friends, my team at Balaji Telefilms and most importantly - the audience, for believing in me and supporting me. I hope to always push the envelope, challenge norms, give talents a platform that they truly deserve, instill pride and give back to the country that has fuelled my ambition and dreams.”

Meanwhile, other than Ekta Kapoor, Karan Johar, Kangana Ranaut and Adnan Sami, Air Marshal Dr Padma Bandopadhyay, Captain of the women's hockey team Rani Rampal, Dr Raman Gangakhedkar, badminton player PV Sindhu and others, have also been presented with this prestigious award.
