Kangana Ranaut, on Monday, urged everyone not to pay heed to rumours related to her upcoming film 'Thalaivi', which revolves around the life of late politician Jayalalithaa. She also informed people that the team has not announced any release date of 'Thalaivi' yet.
"No release date has been finalised for 'Thalaivi' yet, please refrain from rumours. We will release the film as and when cinemas open all across the country. Thanks," Kangana wrote on her Instagram Story.
Directed by A.L. Vijay, the multi-lingual film was earlier scheduled for a release on April 23, 2021, but it got postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
‘Thalaivi’ is a biographical drama based on the life of actor and politician J. Jayalalithaa, who served six terms as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Kangana will be seen portraying the role of the protagonist in this film helmed by A.L. Vijay. Actors Arvind Swamy and Bhayashree among others are also a part of the upcoming film.The makers of ‘Thalaivi’ released the trailer of the film earlier this year and created a storm amongst the audience.
Meanwhile, Kangana is currently busy shooting for 'Dhaakad' in Budapest. Kangana will be seen as "Agent Agni" in her upcoming movie. The film's first schedule was shot in Madhya Pradesh. Apart from "Dhaakad", Kangana also has films such as "Thalaivi", period drama "Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda" and "Tejas" in the pipeline.
Kangana will also don the Director's hat for the second time for "Emergency", based on the life of late Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
