New Delhi: Aamir Khan is all set to return to the silver screen after four years in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. The film, which is an official adaptation of the Hollywood classic 'Forrest Gump', will release on 11 August. Ahead of its release, the negative buzz around the film started with 'Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha' trending almost every day on Twitter.

Now, Kangana Ranaut has claimed that all the negativity around the film is ‘skillfully curated’ by Aamir himself. Sharing a note on her Instagram Stories, Kangana wrote “I think all the negativity around upcoming release 'Laal Singh Chadda' is skillfully curated by mastermind Aamir Khan Ji himself, this year no Hindi films have worked (barring one exception of a comedy sequel). Only south films deeply rooted in Indian culture or with local flavour have worked, a Hollywood remake would have not worked anyway."

She added: "But now they will call India intolerant, Hindi films need to understand the pulse of audiences it's not about being a Hindu or Muslim. Even after Aamir Khan ji made Hinduphobic 'PK' or called India intolerant he gave biggest hits of his life please stop making it about religion or ideology, it's takes away from their bad acting and bad films."

Aamir Khan on comparison between his performance in ‘PK’ and ‘Laal Singh Chaddha'
Amid the call for the boycott of the film, there was another negative buzz around Aamir’s performance. Netizens were comparing Aamir's performance in 'PK' and 'Laal Singh Chaddha' and called it the same. Aamir responded to these speculations by asking audiences to first watch 'Laal Singh Chaddha' and judge for themselves.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Aamir answered this question. He said, “I think you all should watch the film and then decide. I will tell you why, because there is one similarity in Laal and PK and that is innocence. Laal is innocent and so is PK. This is a very strong quality that both of them possess. So, in the trailer, you might not be able to see the difference which you will see in the whole performance. Toh jab aap Laal ka poora performance dekhenge toh I am hoping ki dono characters aapko bohot innocent lagein but woh aapko alag kirdar lagega. Woh aapko PK nahi lagega, mere hisab se. (When you will watch the film, I am hoping that you spot the same innocence in PK and Laal but you realise they are two completely different characters. As per me, you won't feel it's PK)."

Directed by Advait Chandan, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ also stars Kareena Kapoor, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya. The film will clash with Akshay Kumar starrer 'Rakshabandhan'.
