Kajol is one of the few leading ladies in Hindi cinema to have shared screen space with all three reigning Khans—Shah Rukh, Salman, and Aamir. Kajol, whose filmography spans decades and includes some of Bollywood’s most iconic blockbusters, recently opened up about what truly sets each of them apart.
Kajol calls Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan very dedicated
In a candid conversation with Galatta India, Kajol spoke about the distinct strengths of each of the Khans. When it comes to sheer commitment and professionalism, the actress was quick to single out Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. “They are very, very serious about their craft and discipline,” she said, adding, “They deserve every trophy when it comes to dedication.”
Kajol on Salman Khan's larger than life persona
But when the conversation turned to Salman Khan, Kajol didn’t hesitate to acknowledge his unique charisma—the kind that can’t quite be defined by box office numbers or acting methods.
“Salman is Salman Khan. You can’t argue with that,” Kajol said with a smile. “He’s remained the same over the years, and that in itself is incredible.”
Kajol also recalled how even Aamir Khan once acknowledged Salman’s larger-than-life presence. “Aamir said, ‘Salman is definitely a bigger star than me, because no matter how his film performs, it still manages to cross ₹100 crore. And his fans adore him like crazy.’”
When the interviewer pointed out that Akshay Kumar has matched Salman’s record with 18 films hitting the ₹100 crore mark, Kajol responded with admiration—but still held her ground. “Wow, that’s amazing! But when we talk about sheer star power, I think even Akshay would agree—you just can’t touch Salman’s star power.”
Kajol and Salman have shared the screen in memorable films such as Karan Arjun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya—the last of which remains a fan favourite for their effortless chemistry.
What’s next for Kajol and Salman?
Kajol is gearing up for her next release, Maa, a mythological horror drama helmed by Vishal Furia. The film also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma and is backed by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande. It’s set to hit theatres on June 27.
Salman Khan, meanwhile, was last seen in Sikandar and has an exciting slate ahead. He’s reuniting with Sanjay Dutt for a high-octane action drama and will return in Kick 2, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
