Kajol couldn’t contain her emotions as she attended her daughter Nysa Devgn’s graduation ceremony in Montreux, Switzerland over the weekend. Nysa, daughter of Kajol and actor Ajay Devgn, earned her degree from the Glion Institute of Higher Education, with the convocation streamed live on YouTube.

Social media was abuzz with clips from the event, including a sweet moment where Nysa, clad in her graduation robes over a lilac dress, walked across the stage to collect her degree. Amidst the applause, Kajol’s enthusiastic cheer — “Come on baby!” — rang loud and clear, catching even the faculty on stage by surprise and drawing a few chuckles.
Fans online couldn’t get enough of Kajol’s proud mom moment. One fan posted the clip on Twitter, writing, “Congratulations Nysa!!! (In the chaos of 100s I can actually hear Kajol's ‘C’mon babyyyy!!’ So clearly).”
The moment also sparked nostalgia among fans, who likened it to Kajol’s character in 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham'. “She’s truly the real-life Anjali 😭😂 'Haaye… meri beti',” one user wrote, while another added, “This is so Anjali from K3G energy.” Some were just happy to see a star kid reach this academic milestone, with a fan commenting, “Makes me randomly happy to see a Bollywood star-kid completing her graduation.”
Interestingly, Kajol and Ajay have not posted about the graduation or their Swiss getaway so far. However, Kajol did mark National Parents Day by sharing photos of her mother Tanuja and her mother-in-law Veena Devgan, while also paying tribute to her late father and father-in-law.
Kajol’s heartfelt words about Nysa
In a recent chat with Zoom, Kajol spoke about the admiration she holds for her daughter: “When I look at her, I feel, my God, she is the woman we all want to be. It is this amazing quality which today's girls have, that they expect to be treated well. They expect to be treated with the same dignity. They expect good manners. If you are not there, they call you out.”
She added, “I am very proud of her. I have said that to her as well. I am proud of the fact that she carries herself with so much dignity and grace. I think it is always a test of your character when you are faced with uncomfortable situations, and how you react to them. It shows your true mettle. I am proud of my upbringing and my daughter.”
