New Delhi: Actress Gauahar Khan criticised Hollywood couple Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber for their remarks on fasting during the holy month of Ramadan. In case you missed it, during an interview, the two were overheard making light of the practice of fasting during Ramadan.
The original video was uploaded and shared by the account Hijab Modern. During their talk, the famous couple brought up the topic of fasting and why it wouldn't make sense for either of them to participate in it. Justin can be heard saying, “I gotta really think about that, I have never really done it…I think our bodies need nutrition to think properly.” Hailey added, “if you want fast off the TV, fast off your phone, I think I believe in that more, but fasting off food… it never really made sense to me… or if you are fasting sweets or fasting sugar.”
Gauahar Khan, who is a Muslim, had a strong reaction to the video since it came out during Ramadan and she believes that Justin and Hailey need to know the positive effects of fasting on health.
In response to the couple's comments on fasting, Gauahar posted a furious message on Instagram. Reposting the clip, she wrote "Just proves how dumb they are. Only if they knew about the science behind it. And the health benefits from it! Get an education @Justinbieber and @haileybieber. Its okay to have an opinion btw! But be intelligent enough to put forth correctly.
Earlier, Gauahar discussed whether or not pregnant women can fast during Ramadan. She shared, "Yea pregnant ladies, sick person, and traveling humans are exempted from observing Roza! U can feed the needy Rozedaars instead! Subhan Allah."
Meanwhile, Gauahar Khan is expecting her first child with her husband Zaid Darbar.
