New Delhi: The Johnny Depp Amber Heard Defamation case was one of the most covered trails of 2022. Many close relations and friends of both Amber Heard and Johnny Depp had expressed their views during the trial. Among them, Lily-Rose Depp, Johnny's daughter, had remained silent. However, Lily has now broken her silence over the recent trial that shook the Hollywood industry. In an interview, Lily said that she is 'not here to answer for anybody'.

Speaking to Elle, Lily-Rose said,“I know my childhood didn’t look like everybody’s childhood, and it’s a very particular thing to deal with, but it’s also the only thing that I know. When it’s something that’s so private and so personal that all of a sudden becomes not so personal…I feel really entitled to my secret garden of thoughts."

"I also think that I’m not here to answer for anybody, and I feel like for a lot of my career, people have really wanted to define me by the men in my life, whether that’s my family members or my boyfriends, whatever. And I’m really ready to be defined for the things that I put out there," she added.

Earlier in 2022, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were involved in a US court trial where the former won the defamation case and was awarded $10.35 million while Amber Heard got $2 million as compensatory damages. The defamation trial went over a period of almost 2 months. It was also widely reported and polarized views about the same had divided social media platforms like Twitter. The defamation case was based on Amber referring to herself as a 'public figure representing domestic abuse' in a 2018 op-ed for the Washington Post.

Though her op-ed did not specifically refer to Johnny, the actor claimed it harmed his reputation also causing a great setback in his career. Both actors separated a year before the op-ed was published, following two years of marriage, with Amber Heard suggesting a violent-emotionally and physical relationship.

Meanwhile, Lily-Rose Depp is the daughter of Johnny Depp and actor-singer Vanessa Paradis. The couple were married for 14 years and later parted ways in 2012.
